First classes in the new school in Umbolo Dikchicha village were taken on June 28th, 2011. The school building has 4 classrooms and rooms for teachers. The construction took 4 months and was done by a local company.
While the „Ethiopian standard“ is eighty pupils in one classrooms, here there are no more than fifty. Even though it still seems quite enough but the difference is very visible. New building is clean and bright, fully equiped with new furniture and kids are feeling comfortable in larger classrooms. „Before PIN opened this school, I used to commute to other one in neighbouring village. It took me sometimes even an hour. New school is just five minutes away from my house. Now I have some free time and I can even play football with my friends. In school I like learning English and Sidamo. When I grow up, I wanna be a doctor,“ says 9 year old girl called Umre Galato.
